Our Journey

Helping you understand the needs of every neurodiverse person and understand more of our reason ‘why’.

Our Story

It all began with a conversation that stopped me in my tracks.

My brother, who has three neurodiverse children, once said to me:

“Karen, because we can’t travel abroad with our kids we tried two caravan holidays, and both times were so stressful we decided never to book another holiday park again.”

Those words hit hard. Not just because this was family, but because I knew the truth of what he was saying. Right now, holiday parks simply aren’t set up for neurodiverse families.

I’ve spent over 30 years in the holiday park industry. I know the systems, the people, and the possibilities. And I realised that if anyone could help make change, it was me, working together with colleagues and industry contacts, to create an impact for thousands of families like my brother’s, who currently avoid holiday parks altogether.

The reality is stark: for many neurodiverse individuals, holidays can be filled with overwhelming sensory triggers, confusing environments, and unprepared staff. What should be a chance to relax and connect too often turns into an ordeal. Yet it doesn’t have to be this way.

With awareness, training, and thoughtful design, holiday parks could be transformed into spaces that aren’t just accessible, but genuinely welcoming.

Imagine parks with sensory-friendly zones, clear and consistent signage, flexible check-in processes, and staff who truly understand neurodiverse needs. Imagine families booking with confidence, knowing they’ll be supported rather than stressed.

This isn’t just good ethics, it’s good business. Inclusion broadens your customer base, builds loyalty, and sets you apart in an increasingly competitive market.

That’s why I’m calling on my colleagues, industry leaders, and park owners to join me. Together, we can reimagine holiday parks as places where every family, whatever their needs, can relax, connect, and make lasting memories.

Because every family deserves a holiday.

Meet Karen

Karen began her career working for the directors of Bourne Leisure in Hemel

Hempstead before relocating to Poole, Dorset, where she joined the sales and admin team at Rockley Park. There, she helped manage 1,600 holiday homes and worked closely with holiday home manufacturers on design, construction, and after-sales support. This role sparked her passion for modular build homes and construction, which inspired her to establish her first business in 2002, providing insurance repairs and property maintenance within the park home industry.

Identifying a gap in the market, Karen later launched one of the first park home estate agencies, supporting park owners, manufacturers, and customers. Working alongside her partner James, she went on to design and develop two park home sites on behalf of a local Dorset park owner.

Karen’s personal life also shaped her professional journey. After caring for her father with dementia and supporting autistic family members, she became acutely aware of the challenges neurodivergent families face when trying to book holidays, especially the lack of provision and safety considerations at mainstream holiday parks. Following several difficult holiday experiences, Karen resolved to disrupt the industry.

She spent months researching and collaborating with families, therapists, and neurodiverse specialists to create bespoke holiday accommodation designed with safety, comfort, and inclusivity in mind. From soothing sensory bedrooms featuring secure neurodiverse safe beds, to low-stimulation décor, adjustable lighting, quiet zones, and safe spaces, every detail has been carefully thought out to meet the needs of neurodiverse guests and their families.

Meet James

Born and raised in Bournemouth, James grew up with parents who were local house builders and developers, making construction a natural career path. He began training as a bricklayer at college before working alongside his parents on a range of house-building projects and later helping to construct local park home sites.

With over 35 years of hands-on experience, James has developed a wealth of expertise in designing and constructing modular builds. Today, he focuses on creating modular sensory rooms and sensory gardens, while also advising on the design of neurodiverse-friendly holiday homes that combine functionality, safety, and thoughtful design.
