Moving back home can be both exciting and daunting, especially when it happens on a meaningful occasion. For Peggy, returning from Australia made her homecoming exceptionally special as she moved into her new one-bedroom annex on Mother's Day. This blog post explores the thoughtfully designed living space that has become Peggy's sanctuary and highlights how it enhances her reconnection with family.

The Design of the Annex
The annex was designed with a focus on Peggy's needs. It features an open-plan lounge, kitchen, and dining area that seamlessly blend space and functionality. This layout allows for easy movement and encourages social interactions, making it perfect for gatherings or quiet evenings.

Spacious Open Plan Lounge Kitchen & Diner To Clients Style
During the build we suggested a nice decked area opening up the lounge area as Peggy loves to sit and read in the sunshine and she has now ordered a polycarbonate roof system that is due to be installed soon.

Celebrating Mother's Day in a New Home
Peggy's arrival on Mother's Day infused her moving experience with emotion and joy, as she unpacked her belongings in her new living spaces, she created a sense of belonging.
The large windows allowed sunlight to stream in, filling the rooms with warmth. It captivated Peggy as she took time to appreciate her new surroundings. Her first Mother’s Day in this home was filled with the joy of being reunited with loved ones.
The Importance of Family Connections
Moving back to be close to family presents challenges but also offers immense rewards. For Peggy, Mother's Day marked not just her homecoming but also a fresh start.
With her son nearby, she looks forward to creating new memories. Their shared meals and conversations fill the annex with laughter. This open-plan design makes it easy to host family and friends, nurturing connections that are vital for her well-being.

Spacious Shower Room
One of the most appealing features of the annex is the expansive shower room, which offers comfort and with modern fixtures and ample space, it enhances Peggy's daily routine.
Accessibility was a key design element as Peggy uses a stroller, so we needed to ensure that the space is both safe and inviting.

A Thoughtful Process
The design of the annex wasn't merely about aesthetics; it was a thoughtful process to create a comfortable living space to suit the clients needs whilst feeling like home.
A New Chapter Begins
Peggy's story illustrates how thoughtful design and a bit of creativity can transform a garden space into a cost effective independent living accommodation whilst benefitting from the support of family close by.
